• Stock in fall or spring when water temperatures are 50–70°F. Avoid summer stocking.
• Never stock bass and bluegill separately — they need each other for a balanced predator/prey relationship.
• Add agricultural lime if pH is below 6.5. Target 7.0–8.0 for maximum fish productivity.
• Don't harvest bass for 2 years after stocking — let them establish and reproduce.
• Fertilize monthly April–September (if fertilizing) to grow algae that feeds bluegill, which feeds bass.
• 30–40 lbs of harvestable fish per acre per year is achievable with good management.
