RV Tank Tips

Black tank is almost always the limiting factor for boondocking couples. Target <1.5 gal/flush and use campground facilities when available.
Composting toilet: Eliminates the black tank entirely — the #1 upgrade for serious boondockers.
Grey water dumping: Legal in many National Forests and BLM land (check local rules). Never dump black water on the ground.
Never leave the grey valve open while connected — solids accumulate at the drain fitting and create a "poop pyramid" that's very hard to clear.
Tank sensors get dirty and read incorrectly over time. Flush with ice and detergent to clean.
